PacerX ("we," "us," or "our") develops mobile applications including Pacer-X, Five Hole, Dark Skies, and any future apps we release. This Privacy Policy applies equally to all of our apps and explains how we handle your information.
Data you enter directly
Our apps store data you provide or choose to make available — for example, app preferences and training-related information in Pacer-X, game results and statistics in Five Hole, or camera profiles, lens profiles, and preferences in Dark Skies. This data is stored locally on your device unless an app feature explicitly uses iCloud Sync or another third-party service described below.
Location (where available)
Some features — such as the Forecast tab and Tonight tab in Dark Skies — require your location to compute local sunset, twilight, moon timing, and weather. Location is requested only when you use these features, used in-memory to make the request, and never uploaded to our servers. Where weather data is needed, your coordinates are sent directly to Apple's WeatherKit service under Apple's privacy terms.
iCloud Sync (where available)
Some apps offer optional iCloud Sync. If you enable it, your data is synchronized through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Analytics
With your explicit consent — analytics is off by default — we collect pseudonymous usage analytics through Google Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used and to improve our apps. Events may include screen views, feature interactions, app version, device model, operating system version, approximate region, and aggregated counters. Firebase assigns a per-install app-instance identifier so events from the same app installation can be understood together. We do not intentionally send Firebase your name, email address, Apple ID, Google account ID, contact information, HealthKit data, precise location, or content you enter into the apps as analytics events. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app's Settings.
Analytics consent
Analytics, A/B testing, and crash reporting are optional. Declining or withdrawing analytics consent does not limit the core functionality of our apps and does not affect access to paid features you have purchased. If you withdraw consent, future analytics collection from that device stops. Previously collected analytics may remain in Firebase until deleted under our retention settings or until we process a deletion request tied to your app installation.
A/B testing
With your consent to analytics, we may assign you to one of several user-interface variants so we can compare which design works better. Your variant assignment is generated and stored locally on your device — it does not follow your iCloud account or sync across devices. When you are first shown a variant, an "exposure" event is recorded so we can measure outcomes. You can opt out by disabling analytics in Settings.
Crash reports
With your consent, we collect crash and diagnostic reports to identify and fix stability issues. These reports include device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace, but do not include personal data or content you have entered.
AI features (where available)
Some apps include optional AI-powered features.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with third parties for advertising, profiling, or any cross-context behavioral marketing.
We do not use Firebase Analytics to identify you by name, build advertising profiles, or serve personalized ads. We do not combine Firebase analytics identifiers with personal information such as your name, email address, or account credentials.
Data you enter is stored locally on your device. Where iCloud Sync is used, your data is protected by Apple's encrypted infrastructure. Any analytics or crash data is handled by reputable third-party services with their own security practices. Analytics events are retained by our analytics provider according to its default retention period (currently 14 months) and then deleted.
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for optional analytics, A/B testing exposure logging, and crash reporting. You may withdraw that consent at any time in the app's Settings. We rely on app functionality, contractual necessity, or legitimate interests where applicable to provide the apps, maintain security, process purchases through the app stores, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
Our apps are available worldwide. Third-party services such as Firebase, Apple, Google Play, and Anthropic may process data in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. When data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards, data-processing terms, and transfer mechanisms provided by those services, as applicable.
Depending on the app and features you use, we may use the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
Our apps are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are a resident of the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data. Contact us at the email below to exercise these rights.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of our apps after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
